My personal religious practice tends to be syncretic. In this video, I talk about syncretism in Taoist occultism and why a syncretic or eclectic religious practice would make sense for those who are sensitive to spirit.

Companion blog post that expands on what I talk about in the video: benebellwen.com/2017/10/01/syncretic-religious-practice

In the blog post, I also answer a question that a commenter had asked about how I incorporate Buddhism into my personal practice. I don't address that head-on in this video, but since it's a related offshoot from Episode #4's topic, I address it on the blog.

“Bell Chimes In” is a video series on my channel where I pick a topic that is oft talked about and chime in with my perspective. In doing so, I hope you’ll chime back. After the video, please join in conversation with me through a video response, blog post of your own, or by adding your thoughts in the comments section of this video. This isn’t about me. This is about us, about discourse and the collective ideas of a community.

Although the 2017 set of videos is done, the 2018 set is still on the drawing board. I don’t even know if the 2018 set will look anything like the 2017! Everything is open for discussion and for change. So if there is a topic you definitely want to see me chime in on in a future episode, let me know! If there’s a particular direction you envision the “Bell Chimes In” series going in, I’m listening and would be happy to hear your thoughts.
