This video was filmed Sept. 20th 2008 at a party for Syd Yochim. Syd is facing chronic health issues at this time. He is a wonderful father, husband, brother, and friend. Your thoughts and prayers for Sid and his family in their time of need are greatly appreciated. Sid Yochim was there at the genesis of the Southern Rock genre. Sid worked with the Allman Brothers Band back in the Duane Allman era, and that is when the magic truly existed. Sid's Brother, Buddy, was also part of that band of brothers. (Buddy Yochim is the father of Twinkle Yochim - who sang with Dickie Betts' Band - and Sid is Twinkle's uncle) Sid went on to work for many years with the Charlie Daniels Band. This video features Sid's son & daughter, Tucker & Sydney, playing one of their songs along with Dickie Betts. Next is Sid Yochim playing a couple of his songs with accompaniment from daughter Sydney and Dickie Betts. The last brief section is of Dickie Betts soloing over One Way Out. It was a beautiful, casual evening with a gathering of friends and some good back porch pickin' and singin' for Sid Yochim. I know Sid had a great time at the party in his honor and his attitude and spirit are so strong in light of what he is going through. Special thanks to Steve & Terry and Buddy and Dominique and everyone else involved who put together such a wonderful event!
