Persona 5's Sweet presented in the world's first(??) VGM Rom-Com.
Thanks to patron Sanjesh for choosing our February Patreon Request (the theme being Romance/Love of course), we get to revisit the wonderful music of Persona 5! While I've always wanted to cover some of the shorter, social-sim friendly songs from the game, Sweet is definitely one of my favorites. It walks beautifully with a nice bluesy swing beat and lends super well to using my Strat - that said I also had to be careful not to overstep on the awesome cover my friends Mohmega and Legendav recorded for Multiplayer: Connection last year!
The theme of the song got me thinking of a way to do a small short "film" approach with me portraying Joker in a more high-school friendly storyline. With help from Mattattack we sought out to fill most of the video with plot and just scatter some of the guitar playing around! I'm really happy with a lot of it, though 3D Tracking smooth text messages was its own challenge. I also got the chance to include the smooth synth sounds of Anton Corazza towards the end, a welcome surprise and really reinforces the proginess I think you all may expect from the channel! I'd really like to hear more feedback for this kind of video, as I think I'm gravitating towards more story-driven videos where possible! Oh and I'm insanely excited for Persona 5 The Royal.
