Craig Mcleod a producer at EA DICE and one of developers for Star Wars Battlefront II says destructible terrain & destructible buildings (similar to what is featured in the Battlefield series) wouldn't be lore friendly within a Star Wars game, QUOTE
"[ lot of people ask us to say like 'why don't you have full scale destruction why is that not there, ya know I've seen that in Battlefield why is it not in Star Wars?' and it's like that's not part of the Star Wars universe right, ya know when I fire blasters at things you get scorch marks you don't actually destroy a whole bunch of things."

This video is simply a compilation of examples showing why his statement was absurd and why he should have simply & honestly justified the decision through gameplay & game-design/balance, mission design & layout, etc ! :P
