When using the Nintendo 64 GameShark, I've found that just barely touching the cartridge, causes the game to freeze up. In Super Robot Spirits, however, it once caused the characters' limbs to fly off! I was able to do this again only one other time.
Letting go of the cartridge for a few seconds, caused the characters to go back to normal.
I do not recommend doing this with any of your own games, as there is a high risk of damaging the system, GameShark and/or game cartridges.
