Part 2 - Sky Land Resort
Course 2 got a few changes on the lineup of the stars
*Course 2: Sky Land Resort*
☆1 The Whomp's King Return:
(Original Name: The New Whomp King) This star is the same, aside from the name change and some arena tweaks like making the ground holes smaller
☆6 Vanish Into the Reservoir Gate:
(Original Name: Behind the Underwater Gate )Star 6 is the same objective but with the Vanish Cap relocated, before it was close to the pond, now it's close to the windmill, again, probably to put pressure into the player
*Course 4: Chuckya Harbor*
☆Secret Star: Creepy Cap Cave:
Like in the previous level, I'm not gonna talk about the level yet, but I will talk about the cap switch area. Thankfully the objective is the same as the OG, red coins, but this time they are more accessible than in the OG, I kinda don't like how the one that used to be behind the switch in the lava got relocated but I guess it was in favor of being, easier idk
*Course 2: Sky Land Resort*
☆2 Up and Around the Windmill:
(Original Name: Climb the Windmill) This star also seems to be intact, but I am sure it got a few tweaks in the climbing part, may be wrong but otherwise this is mostly the same as OG
☆3 Behind The Closed Gate:
(Original Name: Find the Purple Switch) Originally Star 4 instead of 3. This one is still intact despite the objective name being changed. Idk why it changed, if it was because the red coin ggot the ace, why not use the star from the red coins instead? Otherwise, same star, same objective
☆4 The Windmill's Cork Boxes:
(Original Name: The Flying Stepping Stones) Originally Star 3 instead of 4. Well this one made my detour to Course 4 pointless. You see, in OG Star road this star required the Metal Cap Switch active in order to get this star, since the green boxes formed platforms to the stars, and one fly guy got removed. That last change I can get behind to. Removing the Metal Cap boxes... I'm mixed, because I like the SMW approach of making the boxes more useful other than giving you caps and removing that just makes the caps a bit weaker, and it's not the only colored box that got this treatment. Anyway, in return you get to do platforming on breakable boxes, a bit more dangerous since these are on a timer, and you can break them and if that wasn't enough, you need to use trees to jump in some of them, so yeah, it makes this one a bit more dangerous
☆5 Walk On The Top's Whomps:
(Original Name: Red Coins of the Sky) Which originally used to be a red coin objective is now a more basic objective, climb the Whomps, yes, this is using a mechanic that Idk if it's obscure but I like this change
☆7 100 Coin star:
As vanilla as it is, get 100 coins
*Mushroom Mountain Town*
☆Secret Star: Town's 8 Red Coins:
The OG wiki lists this one as star 2, this version cals it a secret star, well, what do do in these situations. The objective is the same but the red coins were relocated to the pond are of the level, making it more easier to keep track of, because I assure you, at least one of these was a pain in the ass for you if you happened to be searching for it
☆Secret Star: Koopa The Quick:
I didn't noticed a change while playing this one, it seems to be as vanilla as it can, the star spawn is no longer at the top of the flag however
*Overworld Stars*
☆Secret Star: Toad 1
This one is tricky to get but it's just like in the original
☆Secret Star: MIPS:
This one I thought was here from the very start but it seems to appear on a star count, not sure if it's 10, 12 or 16 stars, the wikis don't say anything on the matter. The obtention method is the same as OG
*So Far*
Course 2 was sweet as OG, the red coins being axed is not a big of a deal, but the green switch not being needed anymore is a bummer to me, but this is been a blast, let's see how Course 3 compares

![[RA] Super Mario Advance
Third time I play SMB USA for a RetroAchievements set, and this one was a nightmare, unlike SMB2 for the NES which had easy cheevos and a nice difficulty curve, Advance has a few that are hard. To note, Advance has the Doki Doki Panic achievement of No Death Run thru all the game, no warps and no save and quit and if that isnt enough, No Try Again either, if you fuck up, you fuck up, all the way back to 1-1. And, just like the SMB2 NES set, this one has a second no death run achievement, same achievement as, Finish the game with no deaths but in this one you can use warps, its not as bad if you follow the shortest route. Advance also has the Find all the Mushrooms/HP in a world, but it has an extra one, capping at 5 Hearts for most of the game, except in a select few who cap at 4, and theres barely any guide online that lists them, luckily I stumbled upon Strategy wiki which had the extra heart locations, other than that, this set is fairly easy, the rest are progression, Ace Coins and of course, Yoshi egg challenge, so this one will take at minimum, 5 runs if you play good, 3 of them can be with warps so its not as bad I suppose (or 4 if you get the No death run with one character instead of me who fucked up with Mario).
That should be it, theres no more SMB USA versions out there right? Right?!
