Part 6 - Colorful Coral Caverns
Course 6 time, this stage is... not the most exciting one from this hack
*Course 6: Colorful Coral Caverns*
☆2 Cross The Boats Afloat:
(Original Name: Boat Ride Among the Rocks) This one got changed big time. Before it was a slow ride with fly guys spitting fire at you or diving into you. A change for sure, but I don't think it was a good one, it is simpler sure, but at the same time it's a little to simple for my liking, like the OG was slow and boring but there was a tension from the enemies, here is just, jumping around
☆6 "X" Marks The Spot:
(Original Name: The "X" Marks the Spot) This one changed the coral formation it seems, because there were 3 corals, and here there are 2, and that can mess the muscle memory from OG, not a substantial change, just a confusing one, I guess it was to make people go look at the map idk
☆3 Break Through The Floors:
(Original Name: Break Through the Floor) I wanna say this one changes the location of the star but I'm not too sure about it.
☆5 Combustible Swimming:
(Original Name: Precision Swimming) Apparently the bombs are smaller but I didn't noticed a difference per se, still the same objective
☆7 100 Coin star & ☆5 Red Coins Admist The Pipes:
(Original Name: Red Coins of the Deep) I'm hesitant to say this one changed at all given that OG had the red coins in a line practicall, but a change is a change so, the red coins were relocated, some of them at least
☆1Deep Dive Through the Coral:
Vanilla objective, Vanilla route, Vanilla everything, just do this star normally

Course 6 is not my favorite, but it's not the most exciting one either, the change to one of the stages is objectively good and makes this level more quick but to me it feels like a dumbed down star, the rest of the stars are virtually the same so this stage is still Course 6. Next Time, Sand

After having played SMB Special on the Remastered engine I went and looked or a SMB1 hack that was just a remake of Special, since the OG one in PC-88 is like, not really great, Ill be the second or third person to say it, and this had a Set on retroachievements so fuck it, Lets see what this is all about
So, Special, the true Lost Levels since not much know that Hudson did a mario game in 1986 (even if that name was also kinda given to the e-reader levels in SMA4 but, whatever) and it adds a few items and enemies, and Ill be honest, these add next to nothing if you ask me, they are neat, but nothing really groundbreaking
Level design: is fine, there are some annoyances here and there, and some terrible one tile jumps in some levels, or lets say, a mushroom on a tile ground where it can be blocked and trap you, neat stuff
Items: It adds some but lets be real, outside of the hammer which dont do much, the items are hidden and kinda obscure, you may not even get more than one in a normal run.
Set: This one is rough, specially the 1-up ones and a few No death run ones and add the Kill bowser with fireballs on top of that, this is going to take you a bit to master
Set Difficulty: 3.9/10")
