This may be the hardest I've ever worked on a single arrangement. It certainly feels like it! As soon as the E3 Trailer for Super Mario Odyssey was shown, I was inundated with requests for this tune. Initially, I was hesitant to arrange it - why would I arrange a tune that's ALREADY jazzy? Then, after scrolling through the YouTube comments of the YouTube rips of this song, I came across a comment by RelaxAlax suggesting a Frank Sinatra cover. That comment changed everything.
Jump Up Super Star or Let's Do The Odyssey or I'll Be Your One Up Girl or whatever you wanna call is a tune right up my alley - traditional big band writing with a killer vocal part. It was a bit tough to adapt this to male vocals, but with a ton of work put into the mixing phase, I think this arrangement came out just right! A HUGE thank you to all my collaborators on this arrangement! You guys have seen 8BitBrigadier, Sab Irene & Adrisaurus on my channel before, but an even bigger thanks goes to Cadence (a friend of mine from high school who rocks at trombone) and most of all, Jyggy11 (who not only sang, but filmed all the timelapse bits, and filmed his vocal shots in New York City!) Without everyone's hard work, this arrangement would not be as fantastic as I believe it is :)
