Princess Peach invites Mario over to her castle for some cake, but once Mario shows up there, he realizes that Peach has been kidnapped by Bowser and stolen all of the Power Stars from the castle. It's now up to Mario to rescue Princess Peach and restore the Power Stars to the castle.
In this part, we go up to the next three worlds, Cool, Cool Mountain, Big Boo's Haunt, and Hazy Maze Cave, to find and collect all seven Power Stars from each. Then we go up to defeat Bowser for the first time to collect the key to the basement from him. The Vanish Cap will be unlocked in this part, and we will use it to get the seventh Power Star from Big Boo's Haunt. The Metal Cap will also be unlocked, and we will use it to get the seventh Power Star from Jolly Roger Bay.
