Southend Central is a major station and one of two stations serving Southend town centre. It is located on the London, Tilbury and Southend Main Line and sees frequent service by c2c to the likes of London Fenchurch Street, Grays, Basildon and Shoeburyness using Class 357 units.
Unfortunately, Class 387s are unlikely to return to c2c as they were deemed surplus and have now all since transferred to Great Western Railway, so this has removed the uncommon visitors to the line sadly. However the station was busy today being a nice summer morning, passengers being a mixture of London beachgoers and Southend United fans as a game happened to be taking place that afternoon.
Needless to say, still a very enjoyable albeit short visit at Southend. The area is quite pleasant to travel to and frequent services lead to a fun time filming.
