Growing up in Montreal, Ray Malone's high-school music teacher recommended he never play an instrument again...
Undeterred and armed with a strat copy and a cheat sheet of guitar chords, he formed a covers band and went on to work as a roadie, then live sound engineer and ultimately tour manager, travelling the world running the show for a host of Canadian artists.
Five years ago, walking into a local music shop, his eye was caught by a wall of keyboards and modular kit and a new love affair began. The guitar kit was sold in favour of electronics, and work began building a dedicated studio to house the new project. Ray's now a major part of the Montreal modular and synth community, playing live and producing some truly beautiful tracks, aided at every step of the way by his beautiful baby Great Dane pup Pixie.
Primarily Dawless, driven from a Deluge, his first major live show since lockdown is in January. Come find out how someone can create such lovely songs with such little apparent musical knwledge!
