☀️Looking for safer summer swaps?
Small choices in your summer activities can help lower your exposure to harmful chemicals.
- Outdoors: Choose sunscreen without oxybenzone when possible. Oxybenzone may interfere with the body’s natural hormones.
- Hiking: Choose gear without "stain-resistant" and "water-resistant" labels when possible. These products may contain PFASs aka "forever chemicals."
- Fishing: Choose lead-free sinkers or weights when possible. Lead can affect our health and environment.
- After each activity: Wash your hands, especially before eating or preparing food. This helps remove harmful chemicals that may have gotten on your hands.
