I extracted the video from the US PS2 Disc. It was a 512x336 mpeg2 file at 29,97 fps.
First i did a simple 3:2 Pulldown to remove the duplicate frames and now i had a 23,976 fps video.
After converting the whole video to still images i was left with 4560 images.
Next i upscaled all 4560 images with waifu2x-caffe and moderate noise reduction but the compression artifacts were still visible but i did not want to do more noise reduction because i would lose to much detail.
After this was done i converted the images back to video, cropped the black bars on the top and the bottom and sharpened it a bit.
It's not perfect because the video is still a little bit grainy and aliased but i think it's one of the best looking ones on youtube and i hope you like it.
