On October 26, 1950, Sugar Ray Robinson defended the Pennsylvania State World Middleweight Title against Carl “Bobo” Olson at Convention Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.

Robinson won the fight by knockout in round 12 of a scheduled 15-round bout, ending the contest at 1:19 of the round after dominating much of the fight with superior speed, timing, and combination punching.

Olson showed toughness throughout the championship contest, but Robinson gradually took control and secured the stoppage late in the fight.

Judge Frank Knaresborough: 10–1
Judge Harry Lasky: 10–0

This bout marked the first meeting between Robinson and Olson, beginning one of the notable middleweight rivalries of the 1950s.
