Today we started tearing down our Scania V8 engine that’s going into our Kenworth race truck… what some of you guys are already calling the “Scanworth.”
This wasn’t your typical cut-up, fast-forward build video either. We kept the camera rolling and went nearly bolt-by-bolt so you can actually see what it takes to strip one of these engines down the right way.
In this video we:
• Removed the full cooling pack from the generator setup
• Pulled the cooling fan assembly
• Removed the turbo setup
• Started stripping off non-essential components for the race build
This engine came out of a generator unit, so we’re converting it over step by step for off-road racing use. A lot of this stuff has to go before it ever sees the Kenworth chassis.
If you like real, uncut shop content where you can actually follow along and learn something, this is gonna be a good series to watch.
This is just the beginning of turning this Scania into a full race setup.
