Simulation of a scroll wave pinned to a moving pinning site (cyan cylinder). The rightward motion of the anchor stretches out the filament of the scroll wave. The trailing end of the vortex backbone has a speed inversely proportional to the gap height between the anchor and the lower system wall. This simulation is based on the Barkley model of excitable reaction-diffusion systems.
