Strength without coordination has limited value.
I think this awareness can completely reframe the entire purpose of the gym.
Yes, we want stronger muscles, healthier tissues, and a bigger engine… but those qualities only become useful when your body knows how to organize them.
➡️ Can you create force?
➡️ Can you absorb force?
➡️ Can you sequence movement under speed, fatigue, or pressure?
Those are the skills I want in my camp if I have any hope of surviving an upcoming zombie apocalypse.
The gym gives us a place to build capacity, but that capacity should always be in service of better movement (with a dash of some real 28 Days Later energy).
That's how strength transfers to the real world and to sport.
Perhaps most importantly, that's also how it continues to pay dividends long after you've left the weight room.
