I met this very experienced Galway sea swimmer whilst filming at the height of Storm Eunice' impact on the Antrim Coast yesterday - which appears to have been the focal point of this weather event in Ulster. Just a mile or two inland and there was very little wind or rain in either Down or Antrim. The swimmer stayed very close to shore and in no deeper than 3 to 4 feet of water at this Ballygally beach. He gives some good advice here about the dangers of riptides which are beginning to feature in local coastguard warnings.
