Bypass the New Austin sniper lock and unlock the ultimate Legend of the East (LOTE) outfit early as Arthur Morgan in Chapter 3. Most creators falsely claim that you must reach the Epilogue with John Marston to complete the challenges, but this frame-perfect mission replay exploit allows you to skip the locked areas entirely and claim the best stat boosts in the game early.
📋 THE CHAPTER 3 OUTFIT EXPLOIT MECHANICS:
• The Prerequisite: Play through Chapter 3 until you unlock the Horse Fence mechanic with Clay Davies at Clemens Cove. This allows you to fully complete the Bandit Challenges tracker.
• The Challenge Roadmap: Complete every single challenge path available across all categories, EXCEPT for Herbalist 9 (which is locked behind New Austin) and Gambler 10.
• Step 1: Open your progression menu, go to story missions, and choose to replay the Chapter 2 mission "Who is Not Without Sin" (The Reverend Swanson quest).
• Step 2: During the mission script, sit at the poker table. Win the poker game 3 times in a row. (Technical Note: The first hand in this specific mission is hardcoded to always be an automatic win; the remaining hands require basic RNG adjustments).
• Step 3: Finish the rest of the mission replay normally—save Reverend Swanson from the train tracks and safely deliver him back to Horseshoe Overlook.
• The Glitch Trigger: Upon completing the replay screen, the engine will register your poker wins as the successful completion of Gambler 10. Because of a specific check-loop error in the outfit validation code, the Legend of the East outfit will automatically bypass the missing Herbalist 9 flag and drop directly into Arthur's wardrobe!
