The STIHL FSA 86 R is a lightweight and powerful cordless brushcutter, which is part of the STIHL AP System of cordless tools. This is a new and improved replacement for the FSA 85 brushcutter but with 20% more power for an outstanding cutting performance, making it ideal for mowing large gardens.
It has a sturdy aluminium shaft, a soft-grip loop handle and a cutting diameter of 350mm. It also comes fitted with a metal spacer bracket (as demonstrated in the video) to prevent damage to trees, shrubs or other obstacles.
The STIHL FSA 86 R cordless brushcutter features our energy-efficient brushless EC motor which also has the benefit of being practically maintenance-free. It can also be used in the wet, which is handy in the British climate.
The operating handle on the STIHL FSA 86 R has been designed to be easy to use whether you are left-or right-handed. Simply push the lever, as shown in the video, and press the switches to start the machine.
The FSA 86 R comes fitted with an AutoCut C 6-2 cutting head with nylon mowing line as standard, although you can also fit the PolyCut 6-2 with polymer blades, or the DuroCut 5-2 with flexible DuroCut line pieces depending on the area you are cutting. The cutting attachments can be easily and quickly changed without tools too.
All of the battery-powered tools in our AP System can be used with our AP System batteries. We recommend using the STIHL AP 200 battery with the FSA 86 R cordless brushcutter for optimum balance, but other batteries can be used too. With the AP 200 battery, you will get around 35 minutes of mowing time on a single charge.
