Steve Allen (12/26/1921 – 10/30/2000) was a talented guy: acting, comedy, writing, composing and playing the piano were just a few of his talents. He estimated that he wrote more than 8,500 songs, with “This Could Be The Start Of Something Big,” written in 1954, being probably the best-known of the bunch. It was recorded by several big-name artists of the time. While he played and composed many different styles of music his favorite was jazz and he recorded several jazz tunes, including this one, with his orchestra.
