This happy, and unusual, tune is from 1968 and was found on an old Tape-Mates reel-to-reel tape entitled “An Armchair Trip Around The World.” The tape box shows song titles and countries of origin but does not name the players. However, a bit of research, along with help from the Shazam app, indicates that although Tape-Mates showed the title as “On The Go” the correct title appears to be “Happy Wake Up” and was performed by The Munich Cheese Factory.
What makes this tune unusual is that it uses a mechanical alarm clock as a rhythm element. Take a listen!
