Nuendo 15 adds an Analyzer Track that measures dialogue intelligibility right on the timeline, an industry first. Paul Maunder, a Pro Tools engineer who now cuts ADR in Nuendo, walks through what the update means for post.
The headline feature is the Analyzer Track. Built on Fraunhofer IDMT technology, it measures dialogue intelligibility directly in the project and shows it as green, yellow and red segments, so you can spot lines that will not translate and jump straight to them. Thresholds are adjustable to match broadcast specs, analysis runs in real time or offline, and the same track carries LUFS loudness metering with Program-Gated or Dialogue-Gated measurement. No third-party plugin needed.
The film-mixing automation system gets a significant overhaul too: a compact vertical panel, parameter selection via touchable plug-in controls, copy-and-paste automation, individual track punch-out in Latch mode, and a Write On Play mode that works much like Latch Prime in Pro Tools. On top of that, Nuendo 15 brings MXF video import from OP1a containers, a Convert Channels feature for splitting and merging multichannel files, and flexible video export with burned-in timecode and ADR overlays.
