State of the Global Climate 2025: WMO Report: Bonus - Why is it so hot in USA and so cold in Canada?
I chat about the new report called State of the Global Climate 2025 by the World Meteorological Organization - WMO - release a few days ago on March 23, 2026 which is World Meteorological Day!
As a bonus, I discuss why it is so darn cold in almost all of Canada (temperatures 10 to 15 degrees Celsius colder than normal for this time of year), and why it is so darn hot in almost all of the USA (temperatures 10 to 15 Celsius warmer than normal).
This pattern has persisted for weeks, and will continue.
So why is this happening.

Geneva, Switzerland (WMO) – The Earth’s climate is more out of balance than at any time in observed history, as greenhouse gas concentrations drive continued warming of the atmosphere and ocean and melting of ice, according to the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). These rapid and large-scale changes have occurred within a few decades but will have harmful repercussions for hundreds – and potentially thousands – of years.

Earth’s energy imbalance is highest in sixty five-year record
The ocean has been absorbing about eighteen times the annual human energy use each year for the past two decades
