With disastrous local election results looming, Keir Starmer faces growing leadership speculation and potential challenges from Angela Rayner, Wes Streeting, Andy Burnham and others. But even if Starmer is replaced, would anything actually improve?
In this video I break down why a leadership change is unlikely to deliver real solutions. Labour is broke — there’s no public money left for the big socialist spending pledges. At the same time, Starmer can’t deliver meaningful right-wing reforms (such as serious immigration controls or ILR changes) without losing the support of the party’s left.
The fundamental constraints remain: fiscal reality vs ideological promises. New face, same problems.
