Over 41,000 Signatures! That’s how many a petition, calling for the return of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, has gained in the last 3 weeks. On March 23rd, Paramount confirmed that Star Trek: Starfleet Academy would end with its upcoming second season. Yet Trekkies do not go quietly, as we have seen time and time again.

A fan petition on Change(dot)org has been started and, in the space of one week, has surpassed 25,000 signatures. Now, we’re seeing over 40,000 signatures. On the petition page, you can see how many Trekkies have left comments, video posts and more expressing their love for the series.

A counterpetition, which calls for the upcoming second season to be “shelved” by Paramount-Skydance, has amassed only 700 signatures in the last 3 weeks. You could look at these two petitions and see how Star Trek fans really feel!

Fan petitons do not alwsys work. Let’s not forget that over 60,000 people signed a petition for a proposed “Star Trek: Legacy” series, yet that has never emerged… yet!
