The Ten Wise Men Raids were added in patch 1.1 along with Chaos difficulty and they drop their jewels (pretty powerful assault characters), new gear, and an Ash Crystal which can be used to upgrade your ultimate weapon.

Metatron has increased attack which matters little on Chaos as you can expect all his attacks to 1 shot anyways. He still has his annoying shield mechanic but at this point having 3 upgraded weapons makes it much easier.
