I tested S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl on a traditional hard drive vs a SATA SSD to see why the devs recommend installing on an SSD. On my HDD (Seagate Barracuda ~200 MB/s) I got long loads, texture pop-in, and micro-stutters while streaming the world. After moving the game to a Samsung SATA SSD (~500 MB/s) the loading and hitching disappeared.
