Thought Id introduce all of you to someone new. Plus I heard this song and thought of KAM right away :)
Couldnt find any good textures on BrawlVault to use as KAMs mother, so I used my own cuz I was too lazy to make one :P
And before anyone asks, no this is not my new series.
Take my bed all right? He said while he sat in his old wooden chair that had been in his home for as long as I can remember.
Ill just sleep here. I looked back down at the bed, glanced back up at Roy, then sat down in it. But I could do was stare at the floor. Sleep didnt hang over my eyes... instead the frightening imagines of my dead mother did. They kept flashing before me, almost like they were haunting me. I decided to lay down in the bed, try and sleep. Yes... sleep... maybe this was all a dream. Maybe I would wake up, and she would be alive and well. I closed my eyes, and managed to drift off to sleep. But my peaceful rest didnt last very long. I was pledged with a terrible nightmare... a dark figure, dressed in black, holding a large blood covered sword coming at me while I was pinned in a corner. His eyes burned with an intense demonic fire that scared me stiff. I couldnt move, I couldnt act... I just stood there and stared at the figure approaching me. Suddenly, the figure changed into a horrifying image... It changed into my mother... half decayed, skin hanging off of her bones, clothing barely hanging onto her, blood flying from her limp, disfigured body, and a sword impaled in her side. She screamed fearsomely at me in a tone that sounded nothing like her. Then two silent words echoed pasted my ears:
Youre next.... I screamed myself awake and sprang upwards in fear. I looked around. Roy was gone. I then felt something twitch near my hand. I quickly yanked it back, only to realize that I was shaking in fear from the horrible nightmare terribly. Suddenly, Roy stumbled in frantically, nearly tripping on something. He stopped before me. I only could stare at him as I was letting out small little whimpers of fear. In the dark, there was something I could see on him... tears.
You... okay? He asked. I nodded.
Just... had a nightmare? He then asked. I again nodded, but stared down at the tattered bed. There was no way I wanted to go back to sleep now... I... I just couldnt. Why mother... why must you be dead... why... I didnt realize it, but... I started to cry again. Roy approached me slowly as I tried to wipe my moist eyes.
Kenneth... calm down all right... He said quietly. Roy sat down next to me as I kept crying. I just didnt want to believe it. I couldnt believe that my mother... my own mother... was gone... that I would never see her again... I would never hear her voice again... that sweet gentle voice... never again.... I shut my eyes, the reality of my mothers passing was too great for someone like me to handle... well... it wouldnt be this bad had I not actually seen her dead. Thats what was haunting me the most. That image wouldnt go away. Suddenly, I heard this small familiar tune starting to be sung. I looked at Roy; it wasnt him. No... this voice was a gentle one... and this... was a song... I knew... I knew it very well.
You okay Kenneth? Roy asked in confusion, seeing the surprised expression on my face. I turned and nodded as the little voice continued to sing.
All right... Ill be outside... call me if you need me. With that, Roy rose, and left. The small voice kept singing to me, and it was actually starting to make me tired. I couldnt make out the words... they seemed too foggy. Was I imagining this? Or was someone really singing to me? Then... I started to hear the song...
Sunrise... lift me... I never want to see the dark again... I knew this song... I knew was it was... I knew who was singing it...
Dont be... silly... oh please dont be... My eyes were starting to become heavy. I let out a small yawn, wiped my eyes and looked around. The words continued... they didnt scare me... they soothed me. I knew who was singing them... I knew. And it didnt scare me... it didnt shock me... it soothed me. I laid back down, the bed felt much more comfortable than before now. All the while... that little voice kept singing... I didnt shed a tear, instead... I began to drift into a deep slumber.
Never again was I pledged with another nightmare and the imagines rarely came back to me; ever since that night... when my mothers spirit sang to me... my lullaby.

Um... surprise music video?
I know this isnt really my thing anymore. I started this in early April of this year (2022). I was feeling down and was in the mood to make something like Pepper. I made some really good progress on this before it just became too overwhelming and I stopped working on it. Figured Id wrap it up and get it out before it too got stuck in unfinished limbo. Its kinda why the video ends so abruptly, its still unfinished in a way. I just cut it off and made a quick ending for it.

Content Warning: This video is extremely heavy and raw. A lot heavier than I realized when first uploading it. Theres a lot of heavy, real, topics discussed in it, and it ends on an extremely dark note, with a declaration that I have a reason to die. Im fine now, I promise. October of 2021 was a really rough time for me, and this video helped me overcome that. Thank you to everyone who watched this and expressed their concerns, I really needed that. Anyways, onto the original description:
Im in the very painful process of trying to move on from what happened to me in August. I thought I was doing okay, but when I made Not Our Kind, I realized just how much pain I was actually in and now thats all Ive been feeling for all of October. Just all of the pain from August to early October came at me all at once and it was massively overwhelming. Its left me extremely depressed.
This scene came about when I was doing Parts Therapy with myself. Heres an overview of Parts Therapy:

I set out to turn it into a trauma narrative to help me cope with these extreme feelings of pain, and Im sharing it because I need to reduce the power it has over me. Writing and performing this was extremely relieving, all be it very emotional and hard. And yes, I am also sharing it because I need to stop being so fucking arrogant and admit that Ive actually been badly hurt, because I have. And while yes, I am an adult and Ive been doing my best to ignore most of the comments and slander Ive been hearing about, I cant deny any longer how hurt I feel. I went from being accepted, to that acceptance being pulled away so quickly, it made me question if it was even real.

I know it seems kinda pompous to call this a short film as its just three shots with nothing happening, but thats what it is I guess. If someone lets me know what else I should call it, then Ill change it.
Well if youve come here to the description, allow me to give you more backstory on this bridge. Im gonna be talking about suicide pretty heavily, so heres your content warning.
As stated in the video, this bridge is a place Ive come to multiple times in my life to debate suicide. Ive always said that Ive only ever truly attempted once in my life, but when I revisited this bridge to make this video, it was in that moment that I realized that every single time I came to this bridge (yes, including this occasion), it was a suicide attempt. Because every time I went there, it was with the intention with giving myself a place to kill myself. Like theres no sugar coating this, thats what it was. I honestly thought that 2014 was the last time I did this, but I kept going there in 2015 too (discovered that based on my photographs as I always took my camera with me). Theres probably a lot of dates that I missed when I visited this bridge, but my memory of 2012 to 2015 is so foggy. I am terrified of this bridge. Even just driving over it gives me anxiety. And yes I know. The bridges drop is not that far, and it would not kill me. But the undercurrents from the river probably would (which is why diving off of it is prohibited because people have died jumping off of it).
The videos angle is set up to be my height basically, so you are literally looking at this from my point of view, and thats my goal with this video. I want to put you in my shoes for a moment. That lost feeling of just staring out at the empty waters with nothing in your soul. Thats why nothing happens, nothing is supposed to happen in these moments. You are still and silent, but deep inside, you are rotting. Your mind is splintering from the inside, but no one sees that. No one feels it, no one acknowledges it. Its just you, the water, the sun, the trees, the insects. You feel nothing, which is why you want to escape because you want to feel something again, anything. Hopefully I have conveyed that with the cinematography, color, and music. If not, then I guess I cant quite get my vision across. Thats not your fault.
I made this to feel less alone, to share my experience with someone else. What its like to come to this place and desire death. Because I come here and want to kill myself because I am alone.
