Contractor crews have begun efforts to remove two outdated culverts under SR 302 in the Key Peninsula area of Pierce County at Little Minter Creek. This work is part of WSDOT’s fish passage improvement program. To do this work, crews will need to completely close the highway to install the new, larger culverts beneath the road. This work is expected to occur later this summer and will be announced as it is scheduled. During the closure, travelers will follow a signed detour using local streets. All work is expected to wrap up late fall 2021.
