I tried to find a video of Kelly Starrett walking with a heavy yoke to demo how bracing is the only way to stabilize the spine when lifting something heavy, but couldn't find it. Look, you can use the valsalva maneuver with a curved spine, but aiding the maneuver with ab tension and glute tension supports proper spinal mechanics. Get rid of the "big air" cue, and focus instead on "big tension", if that makes sense.
