GuiltyFeat | Spotlight on Atwood - #accidentalauthors @GuiltyFeat | Uploaded May 2023 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
Yes, I'm still harping on about #accidentalauthors because when I look at the great wall of books behind me I find so many examples of where I have read another book by a familiar author rather than something utterly new. This is both a strength AND a weakness in my reading life and that's why I want to share it.
If I only read new-to-me authors, I can never develop a critical understanding of the evolution of a single author across their career. If I only read authors I have read before, I can never expand my horizon beyond the limited experiences of my tightly controlled pool of authors.
Like all of you, I wish I could read everything. I cannot. And so I try to balance my reading between the familiar and the exploratory, the known and the challenging.
