As seen in the episode "Pre-Hibernation Week" from season 2, episode 13, Sponge Bob can melt under water. By pouring concentrated sulfuric acid (H2SO4) over a WET sponge generates a sufficient amount of heat to melt the sponge in a few seconds. Caution: Wear gloves when performing this experiment.
