The first release on Harvey Fuquas' Tri-Phi Records(Tri-Phi 1001) was this song by the Spinners in 1961. Tri-Phi Records was owned by Harvey and Gwen Gordy Fuqua and operated from 1961 to1963, when Berry Gordy bought the label. Harvey Fuqua went on to write and produce for Motown Records and the Spinners also recorded with Motown, having a big hit in 1970 with "It's A Shame".
