SpectraLayers Pro 13 can separate overlapping voices in seconds. Here's how Voice DeCrosstalk and Unmix Two Voices fix real podcast dialogue, directly inside Pro Tools.
In this video, Paul from Production Expert walks through three real-world dialogue editing problems using SpectraLayers Pro 13's two new voice-separation modules. First, a podcast clip where a second microphone bleeds onto the primary speaker's track – Voice DeCrosstalk isolates the primary voice and completely removes the spill, then Unmix Noisy Speech cleans up the remaining background noise.
Second, an overlapping line from a second speaker gets wiped out using the same Voice DeCrosstalk workflow, this time sent to the standalone SpectraLayers app via the ARA bridge and rendered back into Pro Tools. Third, a genuine two-voice overlap gets split onto separate layers using Unmix Two Voices – no voice registration required – with the Transfer tool used to manually clean up any spillage between layers in the higher frequencies.
Along the way, you'll see how Voice DeCrosstalk differs from Unmix Two Voices, when to reach for each one, and how SpectraLayers' layer-based workflow fits into a Pro Tools dialogue editing session.
