On August 9, 2026, Metra operated an equipment move from Western Ave. Coach Yard (WACY) to the Illinois Railway Museum with equipment previously on display in downtown Chicago for the 100th anniversary of the electrification of the Illinois Central main line. The move consisted of: METX SD70MACH No. 525 “America 250”, METX 7349, IC 1198 and IC 1380, METX 7363, and METX F40PH-3 124. I chose to document the special train at Metra’s “Kedzie Station” on the Union Pacific West Line (UP-W) and was treated to several revenue trains and a Union Pacific freight train during my wait.
