. This goes out to all the nerds...
Operational sounds of an Epson SD-800 dual floppy drive (3.5" and 5.25") when performing various tests using PC-Doctor (a system testing program for DOS back in the day). The system performing the tests on the drives is a Packard Bell Multimedia 486-based PC.
The disks used are:
3.5" 720K Double-Sided Double Density (DSDD, 80 Tracks)
5.25 360K Double-Sided Double Density (DSDD, 40 Tracks)
Tests performed are:
Hi-Low Seek (Head is moved from 1st track to last track repeatedly)
Funnel Seek (Head is moved from outermost tracks to innermost and then back out again)
Track-to-Track Seek (Head is moved up once each track from first to last)
Random Seek (Head is moved to a randomly designated track)
Linear Verify (Same as "Track-to-Track" Seek but disk sectors are read/checked)
Random Verify (Same as "Random Seek" but disk sectors are read/checked)
