In Tip #1, I show you how native speakers REALLY say the word “does” when it isn’t emphasized.
Instead of saying /dʌz/, we reduce it to a quick /dəz/ using the schwa sound.
So “DOES that make sense?” becomes “dƏz that make SENSE?”
This happens because the main stress in the sentence is on SENSE. If you pronounce DOES in its full form, it’ll sound like you’re emphasizing it.
A small change that makes a big difference in how natural you sound.
