How can you overcome impostor syndrome when you are nothing but an impostor? When your only role in life to destroy your sire is already done and dusted?
When the police finally found you, after you had quite frankly quit trying to run and instead drowned your self-loathing in the bottom of a bottle, you thought that they were going to take you to jail. (As if anything could compete with the hell of the Underworld that you had already escaped.)
But they came with not a handcuff but a handshake. You kept your eye on the one who called himself Phoenix, clad in the ridiculous lucha libre of the F-Zero races of yesteryear as if he lived in a time where the races hadnt been banned after The Accident because he then said that he *did* come from a time where...hmm, no, the races had been banned, but they had started back up again. The difference between your timeline and his was that instead of a 3 year moratorium on the F-Zero race was its complete elimination, and in its elimination the crime syndicates turned to worse things to feed their demons. This timeline was off because the accident had been worse. Instead of minor injuries was the death of a person key to the timeline.

Star Fox 64 - Zoness with Lyrics [🎷📖] A Star Fox lore story and narrative saxophone cover of the Zoness theme.
While Falco Lombardi could be a bit standoffish at times, the rest of the Star Fox team came to appreciate that about the avian ace. Falco showed up to missions, performed reliably and competently, and then apart from that, mostly kept to himself. He didnt reveal too much about his past, but that was fine.
During the Lylat Wars, the team saw the mask slip twice. The initial mission to Corneria seemed to rattle Falco. But as the team progressed further to Andross, the team was surprised by Falcos surprisingly emotional reaction to the destruction of the ocean planet Zoness.
After all was said and done, Fox would try to break the comfortable DMZ of silence that the team maintained with Falco to understand more. Who was that Katt Monroe character and how did Falco know her...?
When Falco stormed off after this question, it was up to Fox to find him and figure out what nerve he had touched...Perhaps he might find his companion back on Zoness..?

I did not expect a 1.5 minute minigame from Rhythm Heaven Megamix to have such emotional depth, but as soon as I heard Blue Bear, I was obsessed.
So, I went overboard. I gave Beary and Bearbara a back story, the Integrated City, and ramped the emotions up to 11. Throughout this cover story, I played around a lot with questions such as: what sorts of misunderstandings would occur in a world in which animals have human-level intelligence, but still plenty of animal traits? How would they struggle to blend traditional animal traits to newfound human behaviors? Would anyone understand?

Its your quintessential medieval fantasy. You have the strong, brave, handsome knight who will go out to fight the demon king and save the damsel in distress. He is hailed a hero by the entire kingdom...What more could a guy want?
But we know that the triumphant hero has gone into self-exile...but why?
This cover story is loosely based on Hasshe and Uranus backstory in Live-a-Lives Medieval Chapter. [oh oops, if you didnt know theres a medieval chapter, thats a spoiler. BUT this is not what the medieval chapter is about, so its not really spoiling].
Some interesting things I learned that are relevant for this cover story:
1. Between the original SNES game and the Switch HD-2D remaster, the final boss before the Lord of Dark is renamed. In the SNES, it is Gynephobia (fear of women definitely relevant for my cover story...so I ran with that!). But in the remaster, it is Hygrophobia (fear of liquids).
2. In this story, the demon says that Hasshes sin is anathema even to demon kind. I didnt make up that idea! Believe it or not, but in medieval demonology, sodomy was seen as too wicked even for demons. This changed only in the 16th century, when men started to be accused of witchcraft in Renaissance Italy, and they needed to also loop those guys in with demons just for the effect.
3. Finally, uhh, Im not the only one shipping Hasshe and Uranus, am I??? this is a totally logical ship, right????

Imagine being a historian who has written a history about the truth, and it is buried as anathema (with the historian of course, who was discredited and burned at the stake for his audacity) and it’s only discovered centuries later by his descendant, who is also anathematized for it, and nothing actually changes.
That would be crazy, wouldnt it?
