It's your quintessential medieval fantasy. You have the strong, brave, handsome knight who will go out to fight the demon king and save the damsel in distress. He is hailed a hero by the entire kingdom...What more could a guy want?

But we know that the triumphant hero has gone into self-exile...but why?

This cover story is loosely based on Hasshe and Uranus backstory in Live-a-Live's Medieval Chapter. [oh oops, if you didn't know there's a medieval chapter, that's a spoiler. BUT this is not what the medieval chapter is about, so it's not really spoiling].

Some interesting things I learned that are relevant for this cover story:

1. Between the original SNES game and the Switch HD-2D remaster, the final boss before the Lord of Dark is renamed. In the SNES, it is Gynephobia (fear of women -- definitely relevant for my cover story...so I ran with that!). But in the remaster, it is Hygrophobia (fear of liquids).

2. In this story, the demon says that Hasshe's sin is anathema even to demon kind. I didn't make up that idea! Believe it or not, but in medieval demonology, sodomy was seen as too wicked even for demons. This changed only in the 16th century, when men started to be accused of witchcraft in Renaissance Italy, and they needed to also loop those guys in with demons just for the effect.

3. Finally, uhh, I'm not the only one shipping Hasshe and Uranus, am I??? this is a totally logical ship, right????
