An expensive week that was, with quite a few threads unrolling in exciting directions, and some good will all around. As the Damocles sword upon the stream is still in sight, I've been pondering about what this weekly gathering means to me, what it's achieved so far, and what it can be. I must say that the whole affair has allowed me to grow massively, in the ease I may have with identifying oblique but rewarding music from all around the globe. It has also allowed me to start exploring music and records in brand new ways, building new cognitive connexions between perception, memories, history and senses. And of course, the sense of camaraderie we find here. My goals always were to present music without hierarchy, and to empower listeners and diggers, to free them as much as possible from the looming authority figure dynamics. Obviously, by doing so, a paradox is ultimately created with me turning into an authority figure, to some extant. I hear people talking about "Stunty records". So that means I do have some responsability, that when I present you new records, it has to come from the same place in the heart, never showcase a record I would not put my money behind. This has been one of the main concerns throughout my journalistic career, and I might be talking during this stream about the inherant challenges this presents, structurally.
Until then, i hope this stream will be at least as good as the previous one, and see you there!
