This past week I found myself a new rabbithole. Yes, I know, my field of investigation is filled with those. But in this case, we're talking about a label I was very well aware off, which I was following since its inception in the 90ies. But back then, it was difficult to make a real assessment on each of the releases of a vast catalogue. So I thought it was the right time to get serious about that, while few collectors are looking, and I think I will struck gold more than a few times. Until this comes to fruitition, things keep moving, and this friday should be filled with surprises, with a strong 80ies theme, but not exclusively. Hope you tune in and enjoy it!
Toutes, portant l'amphore, une main sur la hanche,
Théano, Callidie, Amymone, Agavé,
Esclaves d'un labeur sans cesse inachevé,
Courent du puits à l'urne où l'eau vaine s'épanche.
Hélas ! le grès rugueux meurtrit l'épaule blanche,
Et le bras faible est las du fardeau soulevé :
« Monstre, que nous avons nuit et jour abreuvé,
Ô gouffre, que nous veut ta soif que rien n'étanche ? »
Elles tombent, le vide épouvante leurs cœurs ;
Mais la plus jeune alors, moins triste que ses sœurs,
Chante, et leur rend la force et la persévérance.
Tels sont l'œuvre et le sort de nos illusions :
Elles tombent toujours, et la jeune Espérance
Leur dit toujours : « Mes sœurs, si nous recommencions ! »
