Four years ago, I decided to commit to this weekly Friday schedule. I was already putting out a pretty regular version of this, but I thought I'd try a little social experiment by implementing a Ko-fi tipping option after seeing it on a video about the history of Shoegaze—one of those videos...
To my genuine surprise, quite a few of you were willing to support this little venture, and that support has only grown over time. Because of your generosity, I’ve been able to expand my scope tenfold! I was already deep into the research, the musical investigations and directions, but your backing allowed this project to expand far beyond anything I could have predicted. You truly cleared a virtuous path for this to grow.
As I was reminded last week, this week marks the exact four-year anniversary of that decision. To every single person who has tipped, subscribed, or shared a kind word on Ko-fi: thank you from the bottom of my heart. This platform and this archive simply wouldn't be what they are today without your belief in what I do. You turned a solo passion project into a shared community.
I don’t know if I can claim to have anything extra special to offer in this specific installment, apart from our usual brand of unexpected salvaging from the past, some fresh new releases, and whatever else I feel inspired to pull from the shelves.
