Past Tense | Soothing Waterfall Sounds With Birdsong - 2 Hours Of Nature Sounds - To Help You Relax And Unwind @PastTenseRelax | Uploaded 3 years ago | Updated 1 hour ago
2 hours of gentle waterfall sounds with birds singing in the background. The sound of water, whether it be a waterfall, a babbling of brook, or the sound of rain gently pitter pattering on a bedroom window at night, these sounds have a relaxing and drowsy effect on us.
This is down to how our brains interpret these nature sounds, both while awake and while we sleep at night. Certain sounds, such as a road drill or a loud alarm clock, can hardly be ignored. Yet with other sounds, such as waves lapping ashore and the gentle flow of a river, our minds tune out. These slow, whooshing, repetitive noises are perceived as non-threats, which is why they work so well at calming our minds.
The sound of water provides the mind with a protective sound cocoon by providing just the right decibel level to drown out unwanted noise, which can be very helpful if you have trouble sleeping. This is because when it’s completely quiet, people that suffer with insomnia and other sleeping disorders are more likely to focus more on small noises, which can interfere with their ability to fall asleep.
So if you suffer with insomnia, or just need to unwind and relax, I really hope these soothing waterfall sounds can be of benefit to you.
