#NewMusicFriday: I love turning solo songs into trios because I get to showcase the talent of not one but three performers. We have a brand-new trio this time and I have to thank Saskia and her mum, Michelle, for suggesting this song as it works really well as a trio.
I think most of you here know Saskia, who is best known for her portrayal of July in the Annie UK & Ireland Tour. Her younger sister, Elodie, is currently playing Marcy in the School of Rock tour as you’ve seen on Blue Peter yesterday. Both of them have performed in our concerts before. Saskia’s friend, Sophie, played Amanda Thripp in the West End production of Matilda and you’ve seen her in our Matilda medley last week. I was lucky enough to have seen Saskia and Sophie perform in both shows. And we have Tildy to complete our trio this week. I’ve only realised a moment ago that I had seen her performance two years ago! She performed ‘Santa, You’re Still My Friend’ with Orla in ‘Kids of the West End’, the Christmas show in Leicester Square, and I have always remembered that great performance. She made her professional debut playing Honor Carney in The Ferryman at the Royal Court.
These three singers have come together to bring you this rendition of ‘Someday’ from The Wedding Singer.
