Here’s some more solo bass improv! I still have not gotten tired of pun-based titles for these instrumental pieces. The melodic phrases for this were lifted from Jaco Pastorius’s “Portrait of Tracy,” with some different chords underneath the melody (which I lifted from a song called “Lose Control” by a local funk band called Frobeck who I sub for occasionally)
Short version of talking points contained in the video after I play: I feel compelled to spend a lot of time practicing and improving at my craft at the moment, and between that, teaching students privately, gigging, and generally being a person, I imagine I will be putting out videos a little less frequently in the coming indeterminate time period.
