This is the final installment of my solo southbound (sobo) hike of the nearly 800 mile Arizona Trail!
I started the trail with some COVID related vacation time in 2020, with very little backpacking experience. The first time I stayed on trail for more than 2 nights, was my first week on the AZT! Terrified and exhausted, I was only able to crank out 12 miles a day at first. It was the beginning of an obsession to complete the entire trail. 3 years of vacation later, I finally worked my way down the trail from Utah to Mexico.
In this final episode, I spend 4 days working to and through the Sant Rita's into the tiny town of Patagonia, where I was surprised to find TerraSol, a PERFECT place to rest, resupply and regroup before pushing the final 3 days to Mexico. This was an amazing adventure!
P.S. If you recognize that old mining equipment, let me know what it is!
