INGREDIENTS:
3 small to medium turnips
1/2 tbsp salt
2 tsp cane sugar
1 1/2 cups hot water
1 piece garlic
1/3 cup white vinegar
1/4 beet
DIRECTIONS:
1. Slice and discard the top and tail from the turnips. Then, peel them and chop them into 1/2 inch sticks
2. Fill a large mason jar with the salt, cane sugar, and the hot water. Swirl the jar until the salt and cane sugar dissolves. Add in the garlic and white vinegar
3. Slice and discard the top and tail from the beet. Then, peel it and slice into quarters. Slice one of the quarters in half, then add to the mason jar. Add in the turnips, close the lid, and allow to sit in room temperature for 3-5 days. You can then store them in the fridge to enjoy up to a few months
