This tutorial does not cover SBLJ or low ceiling BLJ
0-input BLJ if you need more speed, or if you want to maximize optimization. PBLJ if you need more speed and if you don't have enough room to do a normal BLJ.
tl;dr notes:
• Final Speed (SPD) of BLJ is less that 0-input
• Final SPD of 0-input is less than PBLJ, so long as enough pause buffers were used.
• Execution time of BLJ and 0-input are generally the same, but there are situations where 0-input can be executed faster.
• BLJ can be beneficial over 0-input in minimal circumstances where maintaining a high SPD is not wanted.
• When you turn after performing a BLJ (esp. low ceiling BLJ), 0-input until 2 frames before Mario's SPD resets to 0 (usually 5 frames). This will minimize the amount of SPD you lose before you turn. In some situations, this is not a good idea, especially if you want to loose some SPD.

![MIPS Clip [Demonstration]
This video is for visual demonstrative purposes on https://ukikipedia.net/
This is a Tool-Assisted Demonstration of the MIPS clip performed in speedruns.
The shown method involves a more difficult method of clipping the 2nd door, the 30 Star Bowser door. An alternative to jumping into the door, you can use the same method as clipping the first door in the right corner of the door. ![[RTA] [PAL] Super Mario 64 - 16 Star Speedrun (2811)
This is my first speedrun in about a year.
I am surprised to get sub 30 on my first attempt.
Very bad run; good considering it is my first time speedrunning in 12 months
Big Mistakes:
1. Didnt reset console
2. Failed Lakitu Skip
3. Movement throughout the entire run #rusty
4. Failed at bird strats hardcore
5. End of BitDW was anti swag
6. Talon strat was no strat
7. I cannot MIPS ever
8. Swimming + Camera in DDD is nope
9. Missed so many bowser throws
Overall:
I am sure next time I time myself, I will PB, but like, ehh. I used to be sub 25 last year. So its nothing too good.
Bring on the next run!
With a little practice, I will be back in it at sub 25 like I used to be!!! [RTA] [PAL] Super Mario 64 - 16 Star Speedrun (2811)](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/RYMLUDMvbFo/mqdefault.jpg)
