My best score so far for Slap Fight / Alcon (スラップファイト), the second arcade shoot em up made by Toaplan. Played with ShmupMAME 4.2.

I see Slap Fight as kind of a vertical version of the Gradius formula. It uses a similar power up system and while you don't get options, you can upgrade your wings to increase firepower. You also get to select from several different shot types such as bomb, laser, and homing missiles. There is also a sideways firing add-on that helps to eliminate enemies trying to flank you from the sides.
